Crews Respond to Multiple Incidents
Tenth District VFD, March 26
Yesterday afternoon, crews from our department and multiple surrounding departments operated on a brush fire in Ripley. The fire consumed approximately 3 acres of brush.
Later in the evening, crews responded to a trailer fire on Stump Neck Road. Engine 21-1 (NDW Stump Neck) arrived to find a small travel trailer well involved in fire. Crews from 21-1, Engine 8-3, and Truck 20 (NDW Indian Head) operated ... (Full Story & Photos)

Replacement SCBA
Tenth District VFD, March 23
Recently, we purchased replacement SCBA. This purchase was possible because we were awarded a Fire Act Grant, in which Federal funds are used to cover 95% of the purchase. This morning, our members began the training process needed to put our new equipment in service.... (Full Story & Photos)

High Risk of Fire Spread

Collision With Entrapment
Tenth District VFD, March 13
Yesterday morning, units were alerted to a collision with entrapment in the 5000 block of Mason Springs Road. RS8, PA8, Chief 8A, and Battalion Chief 8C responded. Units arrived to find a pickup truck vs. unoccupied school bus head on collision with one occupant trapped. The crew from RS8 worked to free the trapped occupant from the truck. It’s That Time Of Year

It’s that time of year again. If you have smoke detectors that do not have a sealed battery, it’s time to replace them. If your detectors have a 10-year battery, please take a minute to check them this weekend.
