Saturday evening, units were alerted to the Nanjemoy Creek area to assist a Tow Boat with a sinking vessel. Upon arrival, Fireboat 8 found a vessel that had struck a rock pile and was almost completely submerged. All occupants were accounted for and transported safely to shore by another private vessel. Fireboat 8 and Fireboat 14 (Newburg VRSFD) assisted the Tow Boat for approximately 1 hour with salvage operations.
