Busy weekend for the Tenth District Volunteers as well as surrounding departments. Saturday, the waterways were very busy. Fireboat 8 responded to numerous consecutive calls involving boats taking on water, occupants in the water, and other various forms of vessels in distress. The first call of the day was at 0935 hours, and Fireboat 8’s crew removed 8 occupants from a vessel that was taking on water. The crew assisted with de-watering the vessel, and ultimately towed the vessel to a local pier. The occupants were transferred to Fireboat 4 to be transported back to shore. The Fire Boat stayed on the water for most of the day, responding to consecutive incidents.
During the afternoon hours, units responded to a collision on Stuckey Road near Stuckey Lane. Units arrived to find the vehicle in a very precarious position. Two occupants had self-extricated, and both were transported to area hospitals.
Sunday afternoon, a collision was dispatched in the Hilltop area. A single patient was flown to an area trauma center by MSP Trooper 2. |
