Crews have run multiple extrications this week. On Monday, Engine 8-2 was transferred to LaPlata Company 1 to cover during a funeral. Engine 8-2 responded to a collision on Hawthorne Road at Crain Highway. Engine 8-2’s crew utilized the Hurst tools to remove one occupant. The crew then established a landing site for the helicopter nearby.

Wednesday, crews were alerted to a serious collision in the 6400 block of Port Tobacco Road. Crews found a two vehicle collision with entrapment. The crew from RS8 was assisted by the crew from RE4 (Nanjemoy) to free the trapped occupant, who was then transported to an area trauma center.
