Yesterday afternoon, crews were alerted to Rufus Madeline Place for a reported house fire. Engine 8-2, Tanker 8, Rescue Squad 8, Engine 8-4, and PA8 responded. Engine 8-2 arrived to find a single family dwelling with a well advanced fire. Crews initiated suppression efforts. All occupants were accounted for and not injured. One dog perished in the fire. Assistance on scene was provided by companies 4, 7, 11, 20, and 21, along with numerous tankers that assisted with shuttling water to the fireground. The cause is being investigated by the State Fire Marshal.
